In December 2009, Kern Alexander (CFAP) was appointed by the European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs to a five year term to be one of three ‘academic specialist advisers’ to the Committee on EU financial regulation and the implementation of EU financial services legislation. In this role, he will advise Committee MEPs on a variety of legal and regulatory issues that relate to EU financial regulatory and legislative reform and the related economic policy implications. This will entail writing reports analysing proposed EU legislation and examining existing EU financial legislation and regulation.
