Abstract:
An insider’s account of the challenges of developing housing policy and tackling housing problems in an era dominated by economic restraint.

Biography:
Currently Director of Housing Growth and Affordable Housing, at the Department of Communities and Local Government, Terrie has been working in local and central government for 25 years covering various housing policies including homelessness, supporting people, affordable housing and housing supply.

She is now responsible for housing supply, including affordable housing, strategy and markets policy, regulation and sponsorship of the Homes and Communities Agency, social housing reform and private rented sector policy.

American by birth Terrie was educated at the University of Chicago and worked in educational research before moving to the UK
